IN MEMORIAM | Jim Proveau

It was literally decades ago since I last saw Jim Proveau, but I still remember what a great guy he was. We reconnected online via facebook a few years ago, which sadly would be the last time I communicated with him.

My deepest sympathy to Jim's family and friends for their loss.

 OBITUARY FOR JIM PROVEAU

PROVEAU, James Martin - Sept 10, 1963 - Oct 20, 2014. The family of Jim Proveau, sadly announces his passing at Garden City Manor, after beating cancer, heart disease took him from us.

He leaves behind his mother Marianne (Schaeffer) Proveau and his older brothers Terry (Darlene) and Dan (Bambi); predeceased by his father Paul Proveau. Fun loving uncle to Desiree (James), Dane (Melanie), Harley, Asa, Colton, Mark And Lisa (Ryan); Great-uncle to baby Eloise.

Deeply loved and missed by best friend and life partner David Linton of Toronto. Jim will also be remembered with love by his numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

Jim held a variety of positions in the arts + entertainment field while living in Toronto, notably, The National Ballet of Canada, The Art Gallery of Ontario, and Mirvish Productions.

After 25 years in the city, he made the decision to return home to help care for his ailing parents. He went back to school and became a P.S.W. and was employed by Foyer Richelieu until his health began to deteriorate.

His family will miss his colourful stories and goofy impersonations around the dinner table during family get-togethers.

We would like to thank the many healthcare professionals who truly did their best for Jim. Also many thanks to the staff at Garden City Manor for their care and concern during Jims short stay.

A gentle soul is now at peace. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sun., Nov. 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 at St. Charles Village #3, Nova Crecent, Welland. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
