In Memoriam

Butch Neil & "Trouble" the Cat

Scribbles sends belated and heartfelt condolences to our dear friend Cathy Neil, whose husband Butch passed away on Aug. 28, 2013.

Just five days earlier, on Aug. 23,  Cathy's cat 'Trouble' also departed. He was 13 years old (which is 91 in cat years.)

'TROUBLE'
Butch's passing came after a long illness. This private, loving man actually surpassed the time span which doctor's and caregivers had given him. Perhaps he wanted to be sure Cathy would be properly taken care of before he chose to cross over (although, one can never truly be completely prepared for such a loss.)

Although I met Butch in his latter years, when he was already ill, Cathy often spoke to me of happier times and the special bond the couple shared.

I met Cathy a few years ago when I was employed at a local telecommunications company. The business Cathy worked at was a major client of ours and it did not take long for her and I to hit it off and become confidants.  There is someone very special about Cathy, whose strength and optimism I have always admired.

Cathy, I am truly sorry for your losses. In some way I believe Butch and Trouble are watching over you.  Remember the many precious moments you shared together and let those memories keep you safe and sound, especially on days when the road you travel seems riddled with detours and obstacles.

We may not see each other as often as we would like, but rarely is there a day that I do not think of you and feel a warmth inside, knowing that we are friends.

I love you Cathy.
